Activity Overview

•  3-day/2-night hiking and overnight camping for Scouts Peak Award through Munmorah State Conservation Area. Includes catching public transport. No swimming.

Clothing & Equipment

• Please see the attached Camp Pack list.

• Bring Child Opal Card with at least $20 credit (estimated total travel costs = $12).
• Each member to carry at least 3L water.

Itinerary & travel arrangements

Please see attached hiking route plan. Grade 3 hiking.

Thursday 08/10/2026

Meet at Sutherland Station at 08:45hrs to catch train (dep. 08:56).

Train and bus via Central, Wyong, Lake Haven to Catherine Hill Bay. Hike 6.1km to overnight at Frazer Campground.

Friday 09/10/2026

Hike 15.7km from Frazer Campground to Budgewoi peninsula and back along beach.

Overnight at Freemans Campground.

Saturday 10/10/2026

Hike 3km to Rosemount Ave bus stop in Elizabeth Bay. Bus and train via Lake Haven, Wyong, Central to Sutherland Station (arr. 14:52hrs).

Supervision

• This activity will be conducted under indirect adult supervision. A female Leader and male Adult Helper will be within 30 mins at all times. Adults will be present overnight at Freemans Campground on both nights (seperate camp site to youth members).
